OKINAWA CITY , Japan (March 25 , 2007) -- VFW Post 11435 member Al Pearson presented a certificate to the post during the March monthly meeting that recognized the posts' efforts for recruiting 25 Life members for the VFW's National Children's Home.

The VFW National Home for Children, a neighborhood of homes and facilities situated on 629 acres in Eaton Rapids, Mich., cares for the children and families of military veterans who are experiencing financial and emotional difficulties. Founded in 1925 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the National Home has been a haven for veterans' families for more than 80 years. All children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of a VFW or Ladies Auxiliary member are eligible for residency at the National Home, as well as children and families of active-duty military personnel.

Al Pearson was this year's chairman for VFW Post 11435's help for the National Children's Home.
